The Aboriginal Health program is a program for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are accessing services through Primary Care Connect. We have outreach workers and an Aboriginal Health Coach, who can work with you to help you achieve better access to the health care and social services that you may need.
Cultural safety is paramount within Primary Care Connect. With the disparities in the Indigenous health system and issues affecting Aboriginal health, the Aboriginal Health program serves to bridge the gap to target first people’s health issues. The Aboriginal Health program will be available for all Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island people to liaise with to ensure their cultural and health needs are met. This includes operating in a culturally safe space, within cultural practices and being a go to for clinicians and clients.
