A new chapter of Reconciliation unveiled at Primary Care Connect RAP launch
Primary Care Connect had its first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan officially endorsed by Reconciliation Australia in July 2025, and held a launch of the plan and the associated art piece on Monday, 22 September 2025.
Attended by the organisations Board of Directors, Executive and staff as well as representatives of the regions First Nations communities and other stakeholders, the launch heralded a new chapter of reconciliation at Primary Care Connect.
Co-convenor of Shepparton Region Reconciliation Group Uncle Bobby Nicholls officially Welcomed the event and commended Primary Care Connect on this significant step towards reconciliation. Wendy Ross, Board Chair of Primary Care Connect formally addressed the audience and said, "Today is the culmination of a journey that has spanned the last 18 months starting with the organisations endorsement of an official 'Commitment to Reconciliation' statement in 2023. Today, we commit to a deeper understanding and partnership with First Nations communities. This Reconciliation Action Plan is a crucial step on our journey to becoming an
organisation that truly reflects diversity and inclusion."
Primary Care Connect formed a First Nations Working Group at the end of 2023 to develop the inaugural RAP as part of Primary Care Connects focus on Equity and Inclusion. Trish Quibell, CEO of Primary Care Connect said, "the launch was a powerful event and a celebration of the work that has been undertaken already. But, we also comprehend that this is only the beginning - and we are committed to undertaking the work required and to be a
strong voice in support of Reconciliation and First Nations communities.
Local talented First Nations artist Dylan Charles created the art accompanied by the plan, titled "Moira Yenbena Yakapna" and it now takes pride of place in the main thoroughfare of the building. In acknowledging Dylan's talent and art Wendy said, "When we discovered Dylan’s creative talents it
was the perfect fit to have him create this powerful masterpiece showcasing Primary Care Connect and the wider community.
Dylan, your art not only beautifully captures the spirit of reconciliation but also inspires us to take the next step on this important journey.
